Research on cattle feeding detection using image processing

(in English) Cow feeding time is important in health management and is known to vary depending on the health status of cows, such as pre-calving and lameness. In this study, we focused on the issues that conventional visual and sensor-based measurements have such as labor cost, cost, equipment damage, and stress on cows. An image processing and AI-based feeding detection method using a non-contact camera was proposed and evaluated in a real environment. As a result, the proposed method showed high detection accuracy and was confirmed to be practical on farms.
