Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) communication environments using the 28GHz millimeter-wave band, there is the issue that communication quality deteriorates when dynamic movement leads from a line-of-sight (LoS) environment to a non-line-of-sight (NLoS) environment due to other vehicles, or when interference from other vehicles occurs. Therefore, in this study, we propose a handover (HO) control method between multiple base stations in scenarios where interference or blockage (LoS/NLoS transitions) occurs. Additionally, focusing on multi-base-station handovers, we compare and evaluate two methods with different design philosophies—coordinated transmission and null steering—under identical conditions to verify the superiority of each method. Coordinated transmission aims to improve reception quality during handover by having multiple base stations synchronously transmit the same data, thereby combining interference components as the desired signals. On the other hand, null steering suppresses interference by projecting onto orthogonal supplementary spaces in the direction of interference. In our evaluations, using a straight-line scenario with three base stations and two terminals plus two blocking vehicles, we utilized three conditions—interference only, blockage only, and interference plus blockage—and compared both methods under SINR-based connected-BS selection using A3 trigger plus Time-To-Trigger (TTT). As a result, we confirmed that there are situations in which the synthetic gain from coordinated transmission and the interference reduction from null steering each function effectively, even at beam intersections at cell boundaries or during blockage transitions.
