MPSC Assignment Method for RGB-LED MISO Transmission Based on Variable N-Parallel Code Shift Keying

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In visible light communication, A variable N code shift keying (VN-CSK) has been proposed, which combines dimming control, positioning, and multiple access functions.
The authors have proposed VN-CSK type RGB-LED parallel transmission to improve both transmission efficiency and positioning performance. In this system, an extended prime sequence code (MPSC) and a modified pseudo-orthogonal M-sequence (MPOM) was utilized to eliminate the interference between color spectrum and co-channel interference.
In this paper, a method to reduce interference within an RGB-LED and between adjacent LEDs without extending the code length is investigated when each RGB-LED transmits information using the VN-CSK method with MPSC. In particular, a method to cyclically assign MPSC code sets to each color of each RGB-LED, taking into account the code characteristics of MPSC, is proposed. In this allocation method, the {$i$ mod $p$}th, {($i$+1) mod $p$}th, and {($i$) mod p}th MPSC code sets of code length $p^2$ are assigned to each color of the $i$-th RGB-LED, respectively. The bit error rate performance of this allocation method is evaluated through theoretical analysis.
