We have reported erbium-doped fiber nonlinear transmission circuit (EDF-NLTC) technique to improve the optical power resolution (OPR). In this study, we propose a new configuration of EDF-NLTC, which has an amplification section, to reduce the required input signal light power. We experimentally clarified the input-output optical power characteristics and slope characteristics of the proposed EDF-NLTC. As a result, we could reduce the required input signal power by up to ~15.9 dB. Further, we obtain the maximum slope of 14.1, which is an improvement factor of OPR. From these results, we confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed configuration. |
