In this study, we achieved, for the first time, highly exclusive detection signals of a pair of two extremely weak absorption lines of gaseous acetylene-molecule samples with 0.5-Torr pressure and 3-cm optical-path length. This was accomplished by applying a feedback stabilization control to our original semiconductor mode-locked laser, enabling all comb components of the generated optical frequency comb to be continuously swept in a sawtooth pattern with a frequency range of Δ5 GHz at 10 Hz.
This success was realized by identifying multiple instability factors inherent to the laser cavity structure, improving the signal-to-noise ratio of the detected signal, and thereby significantly enhancing the detection sensitivity. |
