Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Reservoir computing (RC) can be implemented with optical hardware to achieve high speed and low power consumption; however, scaling up and enlarging the time-constant of RC remains a major challenge. To address this issue, we proposed a Split-input Multi-Reservoirs (SMR) configuration, in which small-scale RCs are connected in parallel via tapped delays. This configuration allows signals that input to the RCs through tapped delays to be separated in the time domain, thereby suppressing excessive mixing of temporally broadened signals within the reservoirs. In this work, we evaluate the nonlinear equalization performance of the SMR configuration and discuss its application to optical nonlinear compensation in fiber transmission systems.
