A Study of Attribute Estimation from Finger Vein Images

(in English) It is known that the accuracy of finger vein recognition varies with attribute information such as gender and age. To improve the performance of finger vein recognition, it is necessary to consider such attribute information in the recognition process. In our previous work, we have demonstrated that the gender can be estimated from finger vein images. In this paper, we propose a age estimation method from from finger vein images using a convolutional neural network. Specifically, the proposed method estimate an age by the regressor depending on the estimated gender. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method through experiments using a large-scale dataset.
