Optimal Solution Extraction through Sequential Time Series Processing for Stable Non-contact Heart Rate Measurement using Doppler Sensors

(in English) This study aims to develop a stable method for non-contact heart rate measurement using a millimeter-wave Doppler sensor. In addition to conventional methods such as using a bandpass filter to remove respiratory components and creating a template waveform for extracting heart rate signal, we have proposed a method of variance-based optimal solution extraction through template matched time series waveform processing. The usefulness of the proposed method was verified through heart rate measurement experiments on adults at rest. It was found that the average relative RMSE between the measured heart rate and the reference obtained from the pulse wave was 2.5%, and the percentage of cases where the relative RMSE was 5% or less was 93.8%. The relative RMSE showed an average improvement of 8.2%, achieving a maximum improvement of 20.9% compared to the conventional method.
