A Study of Decentralized Applications to Ensure Authenticity and Traceability of Mountain-Climbing Data

(in English) In rural Japan, population decline and aging are weakening disaster response capacity. With more frequent and severe natural disasters due to climate change and seismic activity, decentralized and participatory risk management is increasingly needed. This study proposes using a blockchain-based Decentralized Autonomous Organization to collect and share local disaster knowledge, including experiential insights and overlooked historical records. As a first step, we developed a prototype DApps for mountain entry registration, enabling users to record entry data via smart contracts. Users can also share trail conditions and observations. Blockchain ensures data integrity and traceability, fostering collaboration among residents, tourists, and governments. We aim to build a transparent, reliable information infrastructure connecting disaster prevention, tourism, and regional revitalization.
