Combinatorial optimization problems that cannot be solved within a practical time using classical computers have recently become an important challenge. Quantum computers are expected to provide an effective approach to such problems. In particular, quantum annealing machines are well suited for optimization tasks. However, as the number of qubits increases, the control and readout circuits located at room temperature lead to complex wiring and thermal load issues. To address this, we propose placing the circuits in a cryogenic environment to reduce the number of microwave lines and associated thermal noise. Therefore, we focus on the Josephson Parametric Oscillator (JPO) as a qubit that can be read out under cryogenic conditions. In this study, we investigated the operating characteristics of the JPO, explored methods for its optimal design, and numerically evaluated the temperature dependence of its phase-discrimination sensitivity. |
