A multicast tree construction method using network centrality has been proposed. Previous studies have reported that this method achieves a higher packet delivery ratio than conventional methods in scale-free networks generated by the Barabáshi–Albert model. This study aims to examine the applicability of the proposed method to real network environments. The approach selects nodes and edges for inclusion in the multicast tree based on network centrality to reduce network congestion. To evaluate performance, a topology derived from the CAIDA AS-relationships dataset, reflecting the actual Internet structure, was employed. Numerical experiments demonstrated that the proposed method maintains a high packet delivery ratio in realistic network topologies, indicating the effectiveness of network-centrality-based routing design in alleviating congestion. |
