Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Hover-in-place unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), widely employed for shooting in program production , are increasingly expected as hovering relay stations for Field Pick-up Unit (FPU) links. To improve spectral efficiency, in-band full-duplex relaying is desirable; however, loopback self-interference (SI) remains a critical challenge. Furthermore, mitigating the limited flight duration of UAV relays through periodic replacement introduces inter-relay interference (IRI). To address these issues, we have conducted empirical measurements of SI and IRI for FPU relays operating in the 6.5 GHz and 42 GHz bands. The results indicate that SI suppression is essential for 6.5 GHz band relays, while IRI mitigation depends strongly on the positional accuracy of hovering UAVs. These findings provide key insights for the practical deployment of UAV-based full-duplex relay systems.
