A quantitative performance evaluation of Kanto University Football Association using Elo rating

(in English) We applied Elo rating, a quantitative performance evaluation method, to the match results of Kanto University Football Association (JUFA Kanto) from 2013 to 2024. JUFA Kanto consists of multiple divisions based on competitive performance results, with a promotion and relegation system in operation. Through preliminary experiments, we designed hyperparameters to improve the predictive performance of the Elo rating system and quantified the overlap in performance level between the upper and lower divisions.
