A Basic Study on Optimization of Caption Characteristics by Using a Caption Placement Rhythm Game (Part 3)

(in English) This paper reports on the analysis results of caption placement data collected from six participants (totalling 22 videos and 451 caption) using the caption placement rhythm game application “captiOnstage”.
By classifying the start and end timings of caption placement into four types and analysing their relationship with caption character count, correlations were observed between the length of the preceding caption (caption character count) and the start timing of placement, and between caption length and the end timing of placement.
Furthermore, analysis of the position (X, Y coordinates) of caption placements revealed that caption were placed at various positions depending on the video content, and that different placement tendencies were observed between individuals.
Furthermore, we discuss scoring and evaluation when collecting large amounts of player placement data for diverse videos through crowdsourcing.
