Development of Wireless Platform for V/UHF Multi-Link Networks

(in English) Mobile phone coverage in Japan exceeds 99% of the population. However, area coverage is only about 60-70%. This means that 30-40% of Japan's land area is not covered by mobile phone service. In recent years, satellite phones have also gradually become more widespread, but they can only be used outdoors. There is a need to monitor social infrastructure located in areas where mobile phones cannot be used, using wireless networks. We are conducting research and development on a V/UHF multi-link network that provides wireless communication tailored to QoS requirements for the purpose of monitoring social infrastructure. This paper describes the overview of the development of the wireless platform necessary for this purpose.
