Non-contact sensing using millimeter-wave radar is gaining attention for long-term monitoring of physiological signals, such as heart rate. In heart rate estimation, the fundamental component of the heartbeat is susceptible to interference from the higher-order harmonics of respiration. Therefore, a method of enhancing the harmonic components of the heartbeat using a derivative filter is effective. Conventionally, the order of derivative filter has been determined empirically. In this paper, we quantitatively evaluate the effective derivative order for heartbeat component enhancement using a simplified model. |
