Estimation of Unstable Periodic Points in Unknown Chaotic Dynamical Systems Using Autoregressive Models and Optimization Methods

(in English) An infinite number of Unstable Periodic Points (UPPs) that exist within some chaotic attractors are important for understanding chaotic dynamical systems. In this report, we propose a method for estimating UPPs from time-series signals generated by a chaotic dynamical system whose equation of motion is unknown. Initially, we perform system identification using an autoregressive model. Subsequently, we search for UPPs by applying an optimization method to the identified model. As an example, we demonstrated that the proposed method can estimate UPPs for a simple discrete-time chaotic dynamical system.
