In recent years, numerous examples of numerical analysis using physics-informed neural networks (PINNs), which incorporate partial differential equations into the loss function of neural networks, have been reported across various fields of physical modeling. When considering the application of PINNs to inverse scattering problems, it is essential to carefully examine the architecture of the neural network. In this study, we apply a PINN to the scattering problem of a TM-polarized electromagnetic plane wave by a dielectric cylinder. As a first trial, we examine the effectiveness of this approach through numerical examples involving a canonical case of scattering by a dielectric cylinder. |
