Performance Assessment of Ethernet-Based Networks Utilizing IEEE 802.1TSN Across Diverse Environments

(in English) In the era of fully autonomous driving, in-vehicle Ethernet will require QoS controls that balance real-time performance with scalability, especially with mixed traffic of different priorities. This paper experimentally examines how network size influences delay characteristics using a setup where Credit-Based Shaper (CBS), a QoS control defined in the IEEE 802.1 Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) standard, manages traffic with multiple priorities, including high-priority classes. This paper proposes a method that combines automatic topology generation with a simulation environment compatible with IEEE 802.1 TSN, enabling the creation of various scalable environments. The results show that, regardless of network size, the highest-priority traffic meets the required delay. In contrast, the maximum delay for other priority traffic worsens significantly as the number of terminals increases.
