The utilization of delta-sigma modulators (DSMs) is being investigated as a fronthaul configuration method for 5G/6G. While D-RoF systems using DSMs enable direct RF signal conversion without a frequency converter, D-RoF systems face the challenge of high power consumption. We have proposed a bandpass optical DSM (BP-ODSM) that leverages the advantages of DSMs while achieving low power consumption and high noise tolerance. This paper reports simulation results evaluating the impact of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel and receiver threshold decision on signal quality, along with comparative performance analysis against A-RoF systems. |
