As a method for compensating the effect of wavelength dispersion while keeping the user transceiver configuration simple, Chromatic-Dispersion Pre-Compensation (CD-DPC) system has been proposed in which the inverse characteristic of wavelength dispersion is calculated from the transmission distance, wavelength, and dispersion coefficient of a fiber, and applied to a transmission signal using an IQ modulator to enable application of a direct-detection optical receiver. However, in order to measure the dispersion coefficient of the fiber end-to-end, a dedicated equipment is required, which increases the cost. When the dispersion coefficient of the fiber is not measured, a typical value or the like is used as the calculation parameter of the inverse characteristic, so that a difference occurs between the calculation parameter and the dispersion coefficient of the actual fiber due to the dispersion of the dispersion coefficient of the fiber, and the value of the inverse characteristic cannot be accurately calculated, which causes a decrease in reception sensitivity. In this study, by calculating the inverse characteristic applied to the transmission signal from the reception signal of the uplink communication, we propose a new CD-DPC method that does not cause the lowering of the reception sensitivity due to the dispersion coefficient of the fiber, and evaluate the transmission characteristic by simulation. |
