(in English) We propose a minimal-hardware colorless-directionless (CD) ROADM architecture that performs joint switching using a single multi-input-port (MIP) WSS, and present its evaluation. By integrating all ROADM functions into one WSS, the architecture significantly reduces cost, power usage, footprint, and internal fiber cabling, while preserving CD-ROADM flexibility through a WSS-based, contention-free joint-switching design. The reduced insertion loss also enables longer transmission distances and higher network capacity.
