A Study on Electric Field Near Toroidal Core for Evaluating Electric Field Coupling Between Filter Components

(in English) The electric field near the toroidal core, which is one of the components of the filter was evaluated by measurements and electromagnetic field simulations. A higher electric field was measured near the toroidal core using a small dipole antenna compared to that measured with an air core. The simulation results revealed that the electric field distribution near the core varies with the relative permittivity and permeability of the core. It was clarified that at the self-resonant frequency, when the near-field electric field is expected to reach its maximum, the relative permittivity of the core influences it more than the relative permeability does.
