An Interactional Approach to Social Media -- A Case Analysis of "Leave-taking" on Twitter (X) --

(in English) This study aims to describe interactions on social media from the perspective of interaction analysis and to examine its analytical usefulness. Using interaction analysis, we analyze end-of-workday greeting tweets posted by corporate accounts on Twitter (X) and the replies they receive, and describe how users organize interaction in scenes of “leave-taking.” The analysis shows that a single tweet can simultaneously constitute multiple activities, such as greeting and conversation, and that recipients select which action sequence to initiate in their responses. These findings are expected to contribute to the design of communication-support systems that are more closely aligned with human practices, such as context-sensitive response generation.
