Organic semiconductors offer advantages such as mechanical flexibility and low-cost fabrication, but their dependence on petroleum-based materials remains a challenge. In this study, organic photodiodes using curcumin, a plant-derived material, as a photoactive component were fabricated, and the effects of the curcumin content in the active layer and the choice of electron extraction layer on device performance were investigated. Increasing the curcumin ratio relative to the organic semiconductor polymer enhanced the photocurrent under reverse bias, while also leading to higher dark current. Replacing the electron extraction layer from LiF to MoO₃ further increased the photocurrent; however, a significant rise in dark current and saturation behavior were observed. These results indicate that suppressing dark current is essential for achieving high-performance curcumin-based organic photodiodes. |
