This paper proposes an access point (AP) clustering and transmit power control method based on differentiable ray tracing (RT) for scalable network-assisted full-duplex (NAFD) cell-free (CF) massive MIMO systems.
In the proposed method, material properties of obstacles within the coverage area, such as permittivity, conductivity, and scattering patterns, are incorporated into the RT model as differentiable parameters.
These material parameters are learned using backpropagation based on three-dimensional coverage maps and pre-measured channel state information within the area.
By exploiting the trained RT model, not only AP-user channels but also inter-user channels can be accurately estimated.
This enables AP clustering and transmit power control accounting for cross link interference between uplink and downlink, which is a major challenge in NAFD CF-mMIMO systems. |
