This report experimentally demonstrates an asynchronous uplink CDMA system for underwater optical wireless communication (UOWC). In underwater environments, platform swaying causes nanosecond-scale propagation-delay fluctuations that disrupt spreading-code orthogonality and create time-varying multiuser interference (MUI). Conventional decoders struggle to mitigate MUI in asynchronous scenarios. To address this, an adaptive interference cancellation (AIC) technique is proposed, utilizing pilot signals to track and suppress MUI. In a two-user UOWC link with fixed-code matched filtering, the BER approaches the single-user baseline, requiring only 0.4 dB and 1.4 dB additional received power for users 1 and 2, respectively, to meet the FEC limit. |
