Reinforcement Learning with Extended Use of Self-Predictive Representation Errors

(in English) "Data-Efficient Reinforcement Learning with Self-Predictive Representations (SPR)," proposed by Schwarzer et al., is a method that integrates self-supervised representation learning into reinforcement learning. It improves data efficiency through an auxiliary task of predicting the latent representations of future states. In this framework, Prioritized Experience Replay (PER) based solely on TD error is typically employed. Consequently, the information from latent representations obtained through self-supervised learning may not be fully utilized in the design of the sampling distribution. In this study, we propose a method that incorporates the prediction error of latent representations into the PER priorities. We aim to further enhance data efficiency by focusing on experiences that are valuable for both representation learning and value learning.
