Effectiveness of Dimensionality Reduction Using UMAP on Open Set EEG Authentication

(in English) We implemented an EEG authentication system using the intermediate layer outputs of a CNN classifier as features, derived from 50 subjects during P300-based BCI operation. We also investigated the impact of dimensionality reduction using UMAP on authentication accuracy for both known and unknown authenticators by evaluating performance via EER, AUC, and PR-AUC. The results demonstrated that applying UMAP improved all performance metrics for known authenticators. Conversely, for unknown authenticators, the application of UMAP led to a deterioration in performance metrics.
