We currently investigate the potential of transdermal drug delivery as an application of guided waves generated on spherical shell. Until now, we have reported on the propagation characteristics of laser-induced guided waves generated on polypropylene spherical shell. Meanwhile, our computer simulations indicate that metal spherical shells generate higher-intensity guided waves than polypropylene ones, however this result had not been experimentally verified. This report presents measurements and evaluations of guided waves generated when nanosecond pulsed laser light is directly irradiated onto the surface of a stainless-steel spherical shell. |
