Measurement of attenuation due to leaves in satellite mobile propagation

(in English) NICT has been measuring mobile radio wave propagation by receiving signals from satellites. NICT has used Ka-band signals to measure propagation in urban, suburban, and rural areas.
Satellite signals can be blocked by man-made objects such as buildings and footbridges, as well as roadside trees, which are known to grow seasonally, including evergreen and deciduous trees.
In this paper, the results of experiments we have started on the attenuation characteristics of leaves to examine whether attenuation due to leaves differs depending on the type of tree are described.
