The Doppler effect of electromagnetic waves reflected by a moving medium was simulated using FDTD analysis. As a basic study, a one-dimensional problem was considered, and it was confirmed that the wavelength of a plane wave reflected by a moving glass boundary changes. When incorporating this into the FDTD method, an algorithm was used that updates the medium value depending on the moving speed of the medium. It was confirmed that the wavelength of the reflected wave from a moving medium changes, and that a Doppler effect occurs. It was also confirmed that FDTD calculations do not diverge. |
