This paper investigates a HAPS multi-beam communication system for disaster scenarios, focusing on land-area coverage. Numerical simulations evaluate the effects of beam radius and beam spacing using effective system throughput, connectivity ratio, and low-quality ratio. Results show that small beam radii of 1–2 km improve antenna gain and spatial frequency reuse, achieving high throughput with good communication quality. For wider beams of 5–6 km, sparse spacing effectively reduces interference and improves quality. These results highlight the importance of flexible beam design according to traffic demand. |
