The DR-IoT system, a VHF narrowband IoT communication system, operates by allocating diverse channels ranging from 4.8 to 300 kbps within the same frequency band. However, the interference characteristics among these multi-rate channels have not been sufficiently characterized. In this study, we quantitatively evaluated interference behavior using hardware implementations by measuring the packet error rate (PER) while varying the frequency offset and the desired-to-undesired signal ratio (D/U ratio). The results revealed that when a narrowband signal interferes with a wideband signal, interference tolerance significantly degrades as the frequency offset approaches the FSK frequency deviation of the desired signal. Furthermore, by incorporating the measured data into the network simulator Scenargie, we confirmed that the simulation effectively reproduces the actual device behavior, including frequency-offset-dependent characteristics. This approach enables highly reliable system evaluations that account for the unique properties of real-world hardware. |
