In recent years, there has been growing interest in path planning technologies for multi-agent navigation without collisions in various industrial and research fields, such as logistics warehouse automation and autonomous mobile robots. This challenge is formulated as the Multi-Agent Path Finding (MAPF) problem. Since no universal algorithm exists for MAPF,
extensive research has been conducted on methods to select the optimal algorithm from a portfolio based on instance features.
However, existing methods typically set a fixed time limit for evaluation, which poses challenges for real-world deployment.
In this study, we propose an algorithm selection method that considers dynamic time constraints in addition to instance features.
We address the MAPF algorithm selection problem specifically for automated warehouses and demonstrate through evaluation experiments that our method improves performance compared to using a single algorithm. |
