Iterative Source Steering under Subspace Constraints for Multichannel Source Separation

(in English) In this study, we propose a semi-blind source separation method that incorporates prior information based on subspace constraints, assuming that the range of source movements is approximately known. The proposed method models variations in steering vectors caused by changes in source positions using a low-dimensional subspace with fewer degrees of freedom than the number of microphones. It then approximates the steering vector at an unknown source position using eigenvectors derived from pre-measured steering vectors. To update the steering vectors within the separation algorithm, we extend the Iterative Source Steering (ISS) technique, which optimizes the separation filters while iteratively updating the steering vectors. This extension allows the algorithm to solve the optimization problem with pre-measured steering vectors. The proposed method is expected to achieve higher separation performance than conventional blind source separation techniques without requiring extensive training. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms conventional ISS-based blind source separation and a minimum variance distortionless response beamformer designed using average steering vectors as prior information.
