(in English) In this study, we investigated improvements in the characteristics of balloon bursting sound as an impulse sound source using synchronized observations combining high-speed camera imaging and high-time-resolution acoustic measurements. Although balloon bursting sounds are widely used as simple impulse sources, methods for generating bursting sounds suitable for impulse response measurements have not been sufficiently studied. Therefore, we proposed a method to physically control the bursting process and experimentally evaluated its acoustic characteristics and generation mechanisms. The results demonstrated that unwanted spectral components caused by membrane vibrations can be suppressed, enabling the generation of an impulse sound source with a flatter frequency response.
