A Proposal of Optimizing Path Selection Based on INT Delay Measurement

(in English) This study proposes an optimal path selection method for source routing based on delay measurement utilizing In-band Network Telemetry (INT). Conventional routing methods based on hop counts often fail to select the lowest-latency path because they do not reflect physical distances or congestion status. To address this issue, we constructed a method that performs comprehensive path discovery and real-time delay measurement by replicating and propagating INT packets. Simulation results confirmed that the proposed method can select lower-latency paths compared to conventional methods. Furthermore, we investigated the network load associated with packet replication and demonstrated the high practicality of the proposed method.
