(in English) In this paper, we propose an encoder pre-training method using CLAP (Contrastive Language-Audio Pretraining), a multi-modal contrastive pre-training approach.
Voice Conversion (VC) is a technique that converts the speaker identity of the speech by altering only the speaker information while preserving the linguistic information contained in the utterance. In VC models with an encoder-decoder structure, such as VAE-based Voice Conversion (VAE-VC), the encoder extracts linguistic information from the input speech, and the decoder reconstructs the speech using this linguistic information and speaker labels.
However, the roles of the encoder and decoder in VAE-VC are merely implicitly assumed and are not based on explicit constraints derived from prosodic information. Therefore, this study proposes a voice conversion method that pre-trains the encoder using CLAP, an audio-text contrastive learning model. Experimental results on voice conversion demonstrate the effectiveness of pre-training with CLAP.
