The WORLD vocoder provides high controllability and efficiency by parameterizing speech into spectral envelopes, aperiodicity, and fo.
However, its output often suffers from noticeable signal-processing artifacts, falling short of the quality achieved by modern neural vocoders.
Although recent hybrids of neural networks and signal processing offer high-quality synthesis, they often lack the explicit controllability inherent in WORLD.
To bridge this gap, we introduce NeuWORLD, which incorporates an aliasing-free structure into the WORLD decoder framework.
Experimental results show that NeuWORLD outperforms the conventional WORLD vocoder in speech quality while maintaining real-time synthesis capabilities. |
