Sender-Side Gateway Proxy Control with Advertised Window for Inter-Datacenter Congestion Control

(in English) In inter-datacenter(DC) communications, an intra-DC flow reacts significantly earlier than an intra-DC flow, which causes fairness-issues among them. To resolve this technical problem, we propose a congestion proxy approach, DC-PEP. DC-PEP disconnects an end-end loop of the inter-DC flow, and backpressure for the front loop from the back one is necessary for managing adequate queue length at the proxy. In this paper, we reveal that significant difference between RTTs of these two loops causes burstiness in both loops. And these burstiness degrades performance of the inter-DC flow. We propose two approaches, resolving zero-window problem and pacing in the front loop, and show these approaches enable stable queue management in DC-PEP by computer simulation.
