For large-scale FANETs, we propose a spatially partitioned IABCO-based clustering method to adapt to topology changes and to reduce computational overhead. The original IABCO algorithm, a conventional clustering algorithm, optimizes energy consumption and packet delivery rate (PDR), but its computational overhead is O(N^2), which degrades the adaptability to topology changes, especially in large-scale FANETs. Therefore, by partitioning the communication area for parallel processing, the proposed method significantly reduces the search space and computational overhead. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves low energy consumption and high PDR while reducing the computational overhead by approximately 80% compared to the original IABCO. |
