In this study, we investigate high-precision acoustic imaging in occluded regions by combining a highly directive sound source, namely a parametric speaker, with pulse compression techniques. Using a multiplexed modulation scheme based on M-sequence coded signals, the carrier component and the information-bearing component are separated and analyzed to comparatively evaluate the detection characteristics of reflected signals in visible and occluded regions. The results demonstrate that the carrier component provides high angular resolution in visible regions, whereas the information component is effective for detecting targets in occluded regions via diffraction. In addition, the feasibility of improving spatial resolution through the introduction of a microphone array on the receiving side is discussed, indicating the potential for further enhancement by applying array signal processing techniques. |
