With the increase in wavelength path users in optical networks, the addition of fibers per link according to demand is being considered. In addition, the introduction of wavelength conversion nodes is being considered for the purpose of effectively utilizing the wavelengths in the entire optical network and efficiently setting the wavelength path between the specified terminal nodes. Considering these situations, this paper proposes a wavelength path routing scheme that can accommodate more wavelength paths between the specified end-end nodes. The proposed method maintains wavelength continuity in each section separated by the start node, the end node, or the wavelength convertible nodes, and it also selects a path with specified number of available wavelengths on the path. Thus, the proposed method can not only select the path while checking the availability of end-to-end wavelengths, but it also makes it possible to use wavelength resources on the network in a levelly manner. In addition, by comparing the proposed method with the existing Dewiani method and its extended method, we will consider the influence of the distribution of the number of fibers in each link of an optical network and the proportion of wavelength convertible nodes in the network on the number of paths accommodated in the network using the proposed method. |
