Performance evaluation of ultra-low latency network L4S using FQ-CoDel

(in English) In recent years, L4S defined in RFC 9330, has gained attention as a means to realize ultra-low-latency networks. While there are many previous studies on L4S, most are limited to performance evaluations of existing TCP communication with L4S communication. Consequently, the performance of L4S in environments with numerous competing flows, such as real networks, has not been sufficiently verified. Therefore, this study implements L4S using FQ-CoDel as the AQM and conducts a fundamental performance evaluation. Specifically, it varies Classic and L4S communications to assess their impact on bottleneck queuing delay. In this experiment, we investigated the number of flows that satisfy the condition of “very low
queuing latency” in network environments with different RTTs.
