In recent years, with the development of IoT (Internet of Things), LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) has gained attention for achieving low power consumption and wide-area coverage. LoRa, one type of LPWAN, is a communication standard utilizing the 920MHz unlicensed band, primarily used for aggregating temperature and humidity information. On the other hand, WiFi Halow is a WiFi standard that also utilizes the 920MHz unlicensed band. It covers an area over ten times larger than conventional WiFi and achieves faster communication speeds than LoRa, reaching several Mbps, enabling the transmission of images and videos. Since LoRa and WiFi Halow use the same frequency band, long-range communication creates an environment where they are expected to compete with each other in real-world settings. This research proposes a method for sharing LoRa and Halow, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed approach through real-world experiments. |
