The authors have proposed differential orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) employing synchronization words (SWs) of Zadoff-Chu (ZC) sequences for underwater acoustic communications (UWACs). One of important functions of wireless transmission technologies for UWAC is resampling function, which compresses or expands the sampling period in order to cope with the Doppler effect. This paper evaluates resamplers employing ambiguity function (AF) scheme and parallel blind re-sampler selection (PBRS), and discusses their disadvantages. Next, in order to mitigate their disadvantages, this paper proposes a resampler which detects re-sampling rate using dual SWs, i.e., DSWR. Finally, this paper compares performance of the three resamplers of AF scheme, PBRS and the proposed DSWR, and channel simulation results and shallow water experiment ones show that DSWR has excellent performance keeping small computational complexity. |
