Proposal and Evaluation of a Spatial Traffic Demand Estimation Method Using Wi-Fi Access Point Logs and Sparse User Information

(in English) University facilities host many Wi-Fi access points (APs), yet communication demand varies over time and within AP coverage areas, making AP-level logs insufficient to capture localized demand. This study proposes a grid-based method for estimating spatial traffic demand using only AP logs and limited cooperative user information. A Transformer-based model treats each grid as a token to learn spatial relationships and is evaluated in a realistic mobility simulation. Compared with a distance-based optimization method, the proposed approach reduces MAE by 4.56 Mbyte, and estimation accuracy improves as the number of cooperative users increases.
