(in English) In recent years, headphone and earphone listening has become increasingly common, and the unnatural localization of the stereo image has been recognized as a problem in headphone reproduction. This study focuses on a stereo width shrinkage method that controls stereo image width by adding crosstalk components derived from loudspeaker reproduction. Subjective listening tests were conducted using the Semantic Differential (SD) method to investigate the effect of stereo width control parameters on sound quality impressions. Five adjective pairs related to sound quality, including naturalness and presence, were employed for evaluation. The results indicate that sound quality impressions vary depending on the stereo width control parameter, especially in terms of naturalness and spatial impression.
