A serrated structure, which creates a periodic modulation structure on a metal plate, is known as a method for suppressing electromagnetic waves leaking from gaps. In this study, we used a waveguide model with slit-shaped gaps in the narrow wall of a standard waveguide to verify the effectiveness of the serrated structure in suppressing electromagnetic waves leaking from gaps through electromagnetic field simulations and experiments. It was experimentally verified that the serrations eliminated the slot resonance in the gap and suppressed the leakage electromagnetic waves by more than 10 dB. |
